Under Louisiana Medicaid, some programs are offered to help eligible recipients meet their daily living needs such as personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, etc. These programs are structured to fit the needs of the individual according to their age, onset and/or nature of the disability or illness. Below is a brief description and elibility criteria for the Medicaid programs offered by PDI. Please feel free to contact our office for assistance in determining if you or your family member qualify for any of these programs or require assistance in applying.
Private services are available to those persons who do not qualify for Medicaid and either desire to pay privately for our services or have an insurance policy that covers long-term care services. Consumers of private services are entitled to the same level of care available to Medicaid recipients as well as other services not available under state programs. Many insurance companies are now offering comprehensive long term care solutions to their customers, affording them greater access to the care they need at home, avoiding an institutional setting.
Many individuals served by PDI of the South are simply in need of companionship or supervision. Their needs are more social, requiring little to no assistance with personal care needs. For those persons, our Companion service can be a perfect fit!
